Greener and Cleaner prepares for Globe take-over

Shakespeare's Globe theatre

It’s all hands on deck as Greener and Cleaner prepares for Climate Action Week 2026.

This year we’re thrilled to be working with the iconic Shakespeare’s Globe theatre, as they throw open their doors for a free day of performances, events and activities.

For one day only, Greener and Cleaner will transform the Underglobe into a giant, living Community Hub – complete with a live Repair Café, an Energy Champions Clinic and an Art in Activism & Craftivism area. There will also be a special ‘Getting Started’ zone for anyone keen to learn how to set up their own community hub or energy project.

Crafts being prepared for Climate Open House

We’ll be showing just how fun, accessible and intersectional grassroots sustainability projects can be, whilst also tackling the polycrisis of our time – from the cost of living and mental health, to disinformation and loneliness.

Climate Open House runs from 12pm-5pm on Sunday 21st June. Thousands of visitors are expected, so book your free tickets to avoid disappointment. Come along, listen to spellbinding music, see dramatic performances, and maybe even walk the boards yourself!

Volunteer repairers at our Repair CafeCurated talks

On 23rd June, Greener and Cleaner are curating an evening of powerful talks at The Globe’s Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. In an intimate, candlelit setting, a host of founders and pioneers who have put their lives on hold to build local sustainability and wellbeing projects will discuss the transformative power of community-led action.

Six insightful 10-minute talks will see our speakers share the spark that started their journeys, what they have developed, and their plans and hopes for the future. At the end they’ll be a Q&A to discover how ordinary people are coming up with extraordinary solutions across the country.

The Globe Talks: From Spark to Solution is perfect for anyone looking for a good news story or inspiration to create the change they want to see.

Free tickets are available here.

Community Sustainability Support Network

These two events mark the soft-launch of the Community Sustainability Support Network for England.

A new network born from grassroots organisers’ lived experience, the CSSN will boost collaboration, inclusivity, and resilience and help groups work together on funding bids, research, and project delivery.

We’re excited to release more info soon – but for now, sign up to get involved or be the first to hear more.
