We’re going BIG!

Today, Monday 20th May, we’ve launched an Aviva Crowdfunder campaign to secure The Hub’s future and plan for the next phase of our growth.

We’re going BIG with ambitious plans to reach more people than ever before with an Aviva Crowdfunder.

With over one thousand people a week using our Hub, what started as a Facebook group sharing advice and tips, has become a game-changing vital community resource.

We’ve seen how The Hub’s offerings help address serious local social and economic needs – from the cost of living crisis to loneliness and mental wellbeing – both young and old have benefitted.

Hosting events, workshops, local meet-ups, and school trips, The Hub encourages people to share practical skills and knowledge like DIY and repair, food growing and energy-reduction tips, and also hosts a popular Library of Things, where tools and household items can be rented to prevent the need to purchase new. Empowering everyone who walks through our Community Hub doors with advice on living more sustainably, a sense of community, and multiple benefits to wellbeing.

With deep gratitude to an enormous team of dedicated and passionate volunteers, we’ve made it this far and discovered how many people in our community benefit from our resources.

We’re now aiming to raise £45,000 to secure The Hub’s future and benefit more people.

Donations to our crowdfunder will help us ensure that we can support more people who are struggling with the cost of living, loneliness, mental wellbeing and a need for practical life skills, all while actively boosting local engagement with sustainability, biodiversity and community resilience.

What’s even better is that Aviva matches donations (up to the value of £250) so any donation you feel able to make is going to make twice the difference.
