Our team are down at the Eden Project with Anthropy UK, listening to and connecting with a wide range of change-makers dedicated to helping deliver a more equitable and sustainable UK.
As well as enjoying the workshops, brainstorms and panels of others, our senior leadership team – Clare Searle, Tamasin Rhymes and Parisa Wright – brought together an interactive panel of experts from across government, third sector and research for a session.
Clare Searle represented Greener and Cleaner and Parisa was the Chair of the new Community Sustainability Support Network for England (CSSN).
We were joined by Sue Griffiths (CEO of The Young Foundation), Martin Wright (Director of Positive News), our panel chair Dr Moira Nicolson (Behavioural Science Lead at Cabinet Office), John Taylor (Communities Lead at Community Energy England), Juergen Maier CBE FRS FREng (Chair of Great British Energy), Matthew Ahluwalia (Communities Programme Officer at Ashden) and Oliver Chaplin (founder of Sustaina-bees).
Our panelists swapped experiences and learnings with each other and our audience around how community sustainability projects and spaces are taking pressure off our public services and helping build community resilience in a time of poly- crisis.
We also discussed collaborations between government, business and funders and how those projects can – and already do! – meet multiple intersectional needs very effectively.
The conference was hugely useful: lots of lessons learnt, exciting connections to follow up, and impactful new collaborations to pursue.
